Site E. Waste Water Reuse for Agricultural Irrigation:

Wastewater Reclamation Facility uses warm Level Four treated wastewater to replace colder irrigation water diverted from a very important coho spawning and rearing stream, Little Butte Creek. Pilot work is scaled to irrigate 500 acres in Bear Creek watershed; council has received reports, a field tour, and a presentation on the project. Bear Creek Watershed Council (BCWC) expects increased project work and landowner contact as diverted water is replaced

Limiting Factors Impacted:

  • Water Quantity
  • Water Temperature

Project Objectives:

  • Demonstrate potential for in-stream flow increase by waste water reuse on crops
  • Show irrigation with Level Four treated water is consistent with good human health
  • Provide local demonstration site for agricultural tours

Key Stakeholders:

  • Irrigators and irrigation districts
